Post Fast

Congratulations you have conquered fasting. The hard part is done, it’s time to move onto the maintenance phase.

Going forward, diligently continue what you have been doing until your wellness goals are met:

  • follow a strict keto diet 6 days a week with 18/6 fasting
  • monitor your blood sugar, blood pressure at least once per day
  • reduce stress, any way you can
  • gentle exercise 30 minutes or more per day (15 min cardio, 15 min weight/resistance training)
  • eat fermented foods and continue to take supplements to keep your GI tract healthy
  • keep lectin and enemies of wellness that cause inflammation out of your diet.
  • on the 7th day, expand the variety of foods to include those foods that you love, but you now know are not good for your wellness.
  • once a month go on a 5 day fast, this will ensure your insulin levels remain low, lowers your IGH-1 and helps with cell regeneration.

One final word of advice. It took years of an unhealthy lifestyle and diet to get you into the shape your in. The 5 keys will show obvious results in days and weeks. In a couple of months you will be a new person. If not, then you were sicker that you thought. Keep trying, don’t give up. This is not a race where speed counts, “slow and steady” will ultimately achieve your wellness goals.  As with any long quest, you journey starts off with either your left or right foot. The trick is to have the courage to take that first step.

Once your wellness goals have been met and your healthy, you will have more flexibility as to what you can eat. Experiment a little, one food at a time. If the food causes discomfort then remove that food permanently from your diet. When you started on your quest for wellness you were told that there were no magic potions, vitamins, foods, pharmaceutical  drugs or exercises. The key to wellness was and always will be knowledge. You now have the knowledge, the rest is up to you. Is it a hard quest to follow? For those of us who don’t learn from our mistakes, yes. For those who want to improve their wellness before catastrophic health damage occurs, not so much. Our body has an incredible ability to heal…if we let it.
